Heart Health and Assessment
Transcript
At Shilpa Davé Health, we believe cardiovascular prevention should be precise, proactive, and personalised. Heart disease develops silently over decades: And our advanced cardiovascular screen goes beyond standard cholesterol testing - to give you a truly comprehensive picture of your heart health. Traditional cholesterol testing tells us part of the story - but not the whole picture. Our assessment includes a physical examination; blood pressure measurement; and an ECG - alongside highly advanced blood tests. These markers help us understand not just your cholesterol levels, but how harmful those particles may actually be. Apolipoprotein B - known as ApoB - is one of the most important predictors of cardiovascular risk. Each harmful cholesterol particle carries one ApoB molecule. This tells us the true number of dangerous particles in your bloodstream, which research shows may be more predictive than standard cholesterol alone. Lipoprotein-(a) is a genetically inherited cholesterol particle that significantly increases cardiovascular risk, even when standard cholesterol appears normal. Because lifestyle changes have limited effect on this marker, identifying elevated levels early allows us to tailor your long-term prevention plan more precisely. Cardiovascular disease is fundamentally an inflammatory condition. High-sensitivity CRP detects low-grade inflammation in your body, even when cholesterol levels look reassuring. We also assess small dense LDL particles, which penetrate artery walls more easily and are more likely to form dangerous plaques than larger particles. Using validated clinical tools - we calculate your ten-year cardiovascular risk score. This incorporates your Age; Blood pressure; Smoking status; Diabetes; Cholesterol levels; Ethnicity; and Family history. When combined with your advanced lipid profile, this provides a fully personalised prevention strategy. Our goal is not simply to label results as normal - or abnormal. We assess inflammation; particle number; particle size; genetic influences; and overall cardiovascular probability - to move from reactive treatment to intelligent prevention. Cardiovascular disease is largely preventable when we identify risk early, and intervene strategically. If you would like to understand your heart health in greater depth - please contact the practice to arrange your advanced cardiovascular assessment.
